Shopify app · the storefront, walked like a shopper

Add to Cart died at 12:18. You knew at 12:20, and why.

A store can answer 200 OK and still not sell. The app walks your storefront every few minutes the way a customer does: home, a best-selling product, Add to Cart, checkout. Two failed checks in a row and the message in Telegram, Slack, Discord or e-mail names the broken step and what changed just before — a theme, a script, shipping, the password — with a link to where it is undone. Nothing is written to your store.

What it does

Six things, done properly.

A robot customer, not a ping

Every check walks your storefront the way a shopper does: the home page, a best-selling product, Add to Cart, the checkout page. Each step has to answer the way a customer needs it to — a product page with a working form and a variant in stock, a cart that holds the item, a checkout that opens. A 200 OK on the home page proves nothing; a cart that takes the product does. Nothing is written to your store and no order is ever placed.

One incident, with the cause

Two failed checks in a row open an incident; the first good one closes it. The alert names the step that broke and what changed in the store in the 48 hours before: a theme published, a new script on the storefront, a shipping profile edited, the password switched on — each with its time and a link to the place in Shopify where it is undone. When nothing changed, the alert says so.

A timeline of what changed

Themes published or edited, the domain, the currency, the password, shipping profiles, markets, products and collections, a sensor product sold out, a script or an app embed that appeared on the home page or disappeared from it. Many product edits in a few minutes become one row. The timeline is where you look when something feels off and nobody remembers touching anything.

Watched products, one by one

Thirty to two thousand products checked on a schedule: the page is gone, the product is hidden from the Online Store, the price is 0, there is no picture, it is in stock but Add to Cart refuses it. The problem is written in plain words on the row; on Pro a daily note lists the products with a problem, and the weekly report on Business counts them.

Orders against the usual hour

The app learns how many orders your store usually takes in each hour of the week and says when they stop: a quiet three hours where there are usually four orders, checkouts that start but never turn into orders, a day far below the usual. Only the time and the total of an order are read; no customer field is ever touched.

Alerts where you already read

Telegram in two clicks, Slack with Add to Slack or a webhook, Discord with a webhook, e-mail with a confirmation link. Each recipient has a test button and its own choice of what to receive: incidents and the message that the store sells again, the daily products note, the weekly report. The pages a customer can land on are loaded on the same schedule, with their speed and uptime.

Why watching is worth $9

A theme update takes a minute. An empty day takes a day to notice.

200 OKis what a ping sees on a product page with no Add to Cart button — the server answered, the customer could not buy, and nobody was told
5 minbetween checks on Business, 15 on Pro: a broken cart is an incident in your chat within a quarter of an hour, with the change that caused it
$99where the few monitors that walk the storefront start, inside a backup suite; this app does the walk for $9, and tells you what changed as well

Most Shopify monitors watch metrics or ping a URL. This one buys the product, up to the checkout page, and reads your timeline of changes when it fails.

How it works

Watching from the first minute.

01

Install from the Shopify App Store

No account to create. The app asks for read permissions only — products, orders, themes, shipping, markets, checkouts — and reads your catalogue once, so it knows which products to walk with.

02

Connect a recipient

Telegram with one link, Slack or Discord with a webhook, or an e-mail address. Press Send test and an example incident arrives, so you know what a real one looks like before it happens.

03

Watch the first check

Home shows the four steps with their times within a minute. From then on the robot walks your store every hour on Free, every 15 minutes on Pro, every 5 on Business, and Home says whether the store is selling right now.

Is it for you?

We would rather you know now.

Works best for

  • Any store with an Online Store and a few orders a day, run by people who would rather hear about a broken cart from a message than from an empty day.
  • Stores that publish themes, install apps and edit shipping themselves — the changes that break Add to Cart and the checkout most often.
  • Teams that already read Telegram, Slack or Discord and want the store there too, with a test button on every recipient.

Not a good fit

  • Stores with no Online Store: POS-only, or a headless storefront without a theme. There is no storefront for the robot to walk.
  • Anyone expecting a status page for customers, SMS, or the app to fix what broke: it tells you what broke and where to undo it.
  • Stores that keep the password on with no intention to open: the checks need the password or an open storefront.

FAQ

Questions we get.

My uptime monitor says 200 OK. Why is that not enough?

A 200 OK means the server answered, not that a customer can buy. A theme update can remove the Add to Cart button, an app script can break the cart, a shipping change can leave the checkout with no way to ship: every page still answers 200 OK and nothing sells. That is why the robot customer walks to the checkout instead of reading the status code.

Does the app place orders or change anything in my store?

No. It never places an order and never writes to your store. The test cart lives in the cookies of our own request and disappears with it; the checks stop at the checkout page, before any payment step. Pro and Business also press Add to Cart in a real browser once in a while; that browser adds one item to its own cart and is closed with it, with the common analytics pixels blocked, so your reports see a visit, not a sale.

How does the app know what caused an incident?

Each incident is set against what changed in the 48 hours before it. Most likely is a change that breaks exactly the failing step — a theme published just before Add to Cart stopped working. Possibly is one that often does — a new script, a shipping edit before checkouts stopped turning into orders. Each has its time and a link to where it is undone. No change found? The alert says so, and the timeline has everything.

What exactly is checked, and how often?

Four steps on every check: the home page answers as a Shopify storefront; a sensor product page opens with an Add to Cart form and a variant in stock; the variant goes into a cart and the cart shows it; the checkout page opens for that cart. The time of every step is kept, so a slow storefront is seen too. Every hour on Free with one sensor product, every 15 minutes on Pro with three, every 5 minutes on Business with five. Watched products and the pages a customer can land on are checked on their own schedule.

The storefront is password-protected

A development store always is, and a store before launch often is. Give the app the storefront password on Get set up and the checks run behind it; the password is stored encrypted, used only to open the storefront, never shown again and removed when you clear the field or uninstall. Without it, a password page is shown as a state, not an incident.

An alert did not arrive

Three things to check. The recipient is active and has instant alerts on — an e-mail must be confirmed first. The incident exists: it opens after two failed checks in a row, so one red check is not an alert yet. And on Free, yellow incidents and the orders alerts are not sent.

What does each plan include?

Free: one sensor product checked every hour, 30 watched products once a day, 5 pages, two recipients on e-mail and Telegram, 30 days of history. Pro $9: three sensors every 15 minutes, 100 products every hour, 20 pages, orders against the usual hour, Slack and Discord, ten recipients, every change sent to the chat, Add to Cart pressed in a real browser every hour, 90 days of history. Business $19: five sensors every 5 minutes, the whole catalogue up to 2,000 products every 6 hours with the top 100 every hour, 50 pages, a browser recheck before a no-button alert, the click every 15 minutes, the weekly report, a year of history. Pro starts with 7 free days; billing is on your Shopify invoice.

The orders tile says it is building the baseline

Usual orders are the average of the same hour of the week over the last 8 weeks. For the first 14 days there is not enough of it to call an hour quiet, so the orders alerts stay off and the tile counts down. Storefront checks work from the first minute.

What happens when I uninstall?

Everything about your store — checks, changes, incidents, recipients — is deleted as soon as Shopify tells us. Nothing was written to your store at any time.
