Shopify app · competitor prices, watched

Zalando went €4 under you at 16:03. You knew at 16:04.

Paste the page where a competitor sells the same product. The app reads it a few times a day and shows their price next to yours with the gap; the moment one goes under you, drops or comes back above, the alert lands in Telegram, Slack, Discord or e-mail. Any online store with a readable product page; nothing is written to yours.

What it does

Six things, done properly.

Any shop page, read by itself

Pick your product, paste the page where a competitor sells the same thing. Shopify stores are read through their public product data; WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, Shopware and most other shops through the structured data of the page; pages that draw their prices with scripts through a real browser; the few sites behind bot protection through an unblocking service, within a daily count on Pro and up. Marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay or Etsy are not supported — we say so instead of pretending.

Their price next to yours

One row per product of yours, with its picture, your price and where you stand; every competitor inside it with their picture, their price, the crossed-out offer and the sale chip, the gap in percent, stock and the last read. Pin the comparisons that matter, keep a note on each, filter by brand, category or tag, by who is on sale or sold out; the whole table as CSV or a live Google Sheet. Prices in another currency are shown as they are — no guessed conversions.

Alerts the moment a page is read

A competitor went under your price, dropped by your threshold, started a sale, came back above, ran out of stock. The alert lands in Telegram, Slack, Discord or e-mail with a button to their page; several findings of one run arrive as one message, and a daily digest says who is below you right now.

History per link, a log of every run

Every reading is kept: price, currency, availability, source. Open a row and see the line of the last thirty days against your price. Runs show every pass of the reader — what was due, read, failed, and why a page could not be read, in words.

Your thresholds, your rules, your hours

Tell me about any gap, or only about a real undercut of 5% or more. A drop or a rise by your threshold, a sale from 10% off, out of stock, a page that could not be read three times in a row: every rule has a switch, an example and a clear end, and every comparison may carry its own thresholds. On Pro and up a link can be read at the times and on the days you choose, in your store’s time zone. Mute what you already know about.

Nothing is written to your store

The app asks for one permission — read products — and never changes a price. It reads the pages you paste politely: a named user agent with a contact address, robots.txt respected, one site never in parallel, a few times a day on the schedule of your plan.

Why watching is worth $9

A competitor’s sale takes a minute to start. You find out from your own sales a week later.

€4 under youis enough to lose the sale on a product people compare in two tabs — and nobody tells you it happened
2× a dayevery link read on Pro, spread over the day, one site never in parallel — what a person checking by hand does once a week, if at all
$99where the enterprise monitors start, for 100 products read once a day; this app watches 100 links twice a day for $9, with the alerts in the chat you already read

Enterprise monitors come with automatic matching and repricing. This app does the simpler, honest thing: you paste the links, it reads them, you decide the price.

How it works

Watching from the first five minutes.

01

Install from the Shopify App Store

No account to create. The app asks to read products — nothing else — and reads them once, so it knows your prices.

02

Connect a channel and add a link

Telegram in two clicks, a Slack or Discord webhook, or an e-mail address. Then pick your product in the picker, paste the competitor’s product page, Add.

03

Watch the first read

Within five minutes the row shows their price next to yours and the gap. If they are under you, the alert is already in your channel. From then on the link is read on the schedule of your plan.

Is it for you?

We would rather you know now.

Works best for

  • Stores that sell the same products as a few known competitors: brands sold in several shops, parts, supplements, electronics, books.
  • Anyone who checks competitor pages by hand every week and wants that done every day, with a message when it matters.
  • Competitors on their own shops: Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, Shopware and most others.

Not a good fit

  • Marketplaces — Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Etsy: their pages are not read. Shops behind bot protection are read on Pro and up through the unblocking service, within its daily count; on Free the link says so.
  • Anyone expecting the app to find competitors or to change your prices: you paste the links, you decide the price.
  • Unique products nobody else sells: there is nothing to compare.

FAQ

Questions we get.

Which pages can be read?

A product page of any online shop that says its price in a way machines can read: the public JSON of a Shopify store, structured data (JSON-LD, Open Graph, microdata) on WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, Shopware and most other platforms. Pages that draw the price with scripts are read with a real browser. Marketplaces are not supported. A page that cannot be read says why in the row and in Runs.

How often is a link read?

On the schedule of your plan: once a day on Free, twice on Pro, four times on Business, six on Scale, spread over the day. Check now reads a link with the next run, within five minutes, once in ten minutes per link.

What is “ours” when the product has several variants?

Pick the variant when you add the link, and that price is ours. Without a variant, ours is the lowest price among the active variants, marked “from”; theirs is the offer of the hinted variant on their page, else their lowest.

The gap is missing on a row

Their page sells in another currency than your store, or no price could be read yet. We do not convert currencies: a gap would be a guess. Prices are shown as they are; the row says which currency theirs is in.

Is it allowed to read competitor pages?

Reading a public product page a few times a day, the way a browser does, is what price comparison sites and shoppers do every day. The app names itself in the user agent with a contact address, respects robots.txt, never logs in, never fills forms, reads only the pages you linked and stores only the price, the currency, availability and the title.

Does the app change my prices?

No. It has no permission to write to your store and never asks for one. You see the gap and decide.

What does each plan include?

Free: 5 links read once a day, one channel, 30 days of history. Pro $9: 100 links read twice a day, rules for raised prices, sales and out-of-stock, your own thresholds and read times, 10 channels, 90 days, CSV and a live Google Sheet, 10 pinned comparisons with notes, 10 unblocked reads a day for protected sites. Business $19: 300 links read four times a day, a year of history, 20 pins, 100 unblocked reads a day. Scale $29: 600 links read six times a day, 30 pins, 300 unblocked reads a day. Paid plans start with 14 free days; billing is on your Shopify invoice.

Some sites refuse to be read. What then?

Ordinary shops are read free and without a count. A few sites sit behind bot protection — a 403, a captcha, a “checking your browser” page. On Pro and up those are read through an unblocking service, which costs us per page, so it has a daily count per store: Pro 50, Business 100, Scale 300. The address check tells you at once when a page is one of those and what a read of it costs. On Free such pages stay “blocked”.

What happens when I uninstall?

Everything about your store — links, readings, findings, channels — is deleted as soon as Shopify tells us. Nothing was ever written to your store.
