Shopify app · the delivery promise, kept honest

A bar that never lies: order in 2 h 14 m, get it by Thursday.

A bar and a line under Add to Cart count down to your real cut-off and show an estimated delivery date for the shopper’s country — weekends, holidays and your own days off skipped, free shipping left included. Every order is logged with the day it was promised to ship, and when promises are missed the chat hears about it the next morning.

What it does

Six things, done properly.

A countdown to your real cut-off

“Order in 2 h 14 m · ships tomorrow.” The bar and the line under Add to Cart count down to the cut-off you set for that day of the week, in your store’s time zone. After the cut-off the countdown runs to the next order-by day; the promise is the ship day: today, tomorrow or a named day. In the last minute it says “Order now”, so nobody clicks into a missed deadline.

An estimated delivery date, not a guess from today

“Get it by Fri 23 – Mon 26 Oct.” The date is counted from the ship day (order-by day plus your processing time) plus the transit days of the shopper’s country, and it skips weekends, the public holidays of your warehouse country and of the shopper’s country, and your own days off. It is labelled Estimated, always — it is computed from your settings, not promised by a carrier.

Free shipping left, from your own rates

“€12.00 to free shipping.” The threshold is read from your Shopify shipping rates (or typed by you per country) and compared with the cart. At zero the bar says Free shipping unlocked. Each of the three items in the bar can be switched off.

Computed in the browser, so the page stays fast

Your settings are written once to a store metafield and the script reads them on the page: no request to our server, a script of about 3 KB compressed. The bar is an app embed you turn on in the theme editor; the Get it by line is an app block with a country select, on product pages only, and silent for a sold-out variant.

Every order logged with its promise

When an order is placed, the app writes down the day it was promised to ship and the cut-off that was in force — from the same calculation the shopper saw. A fulfilment closes the entry: kept when it shipped on the promised day or before, late when after. The Promises screen counts kept, late, missed and open, by country and period, and exports CSV and a Google Sheets link that keeps itself up to date.

One chat card when promises are missed

“⚠️ 3 orders promised to ship yesterday are not fulfilled · cut-off was 14:00 · #1041, #1042, #1043.” An order still not shipped when its ship day ends becomes missed, and one card per ship day goes to Telegram, Slack, Discord or e-mail with a button that opens the orders. The daily digest gets a line: kept, late, missed.

Why it matters

“Ships in 1–2 days” is a promise nobody checks. Until the customer does.

Friday 15:00an order placed after the cut-off ships Monday; a bar that counts “from today” says Tuesday and the customer is angry on Wednesday
1 linewhat the shopper reads under the price instead of a guess: when to order by, when it should arrive, how much is left to free shipping
3 orderspromised for today and not shipped: one refund or one bad review each — and you hear about it at 14:30, not next week

Shopify’s own delivery dates appear at checkout only, in eight countries, with a 12:00 cut-off. Countdown bars usually show text typed by hand. This app counts from your cut-off and keeps a log of what was promised.

How it works

On the page in a few minutes.

01

Install from the Shopify App Store

No account to create. The app asks to read your shipping settings, orders and fulfilments — nothing else. Orders are Level 1 protected customer data: the shipping country and the dates only, no names or addresses. It reads your shipping zones, free-shipping thresholds and processing time and prepares the rules.

02

Check the cut-off and the transit days

Settings shows what was read: the cut-off for each day, the countries of your zones, the transit time for each. Fill in the transit days for at least one country, add your own days off if you have any. Fields save as you leave them.

03

Turn the bar on in your theme

Home → Get set up → Turn on the bar opens the theme editor with the app embed ready; add the Get it by block to the product template. Both are off until you switch them on. The bar on Home shows what a shopper will see.

Is it for you?

We would rather you know now than after a month.

Works best for

  • Stores that ship from one warehouse to 3–8 countries on flat or threshold-based rates and want “when will it arrive?” answered on the product page.
  • Shops that wrote “ships in 1–2 days” by hand and keep forgetting weekends and holidays.
  • Owners who want to know how many promises were missed last week, and to be told on the day.

Not a good fit

  • Stores with several warehouses or carrier-calculated rates: the date is counted from one dispatch point and fixed transit days.
  • Dropshipping with suppliers’ own lead times: the app counts your processing time, not theirs.
  • Anyone who needs a delivery date that a carrier stands behind: this one is an estimate from your settings.

The date is an estimate computed from your settings. The app writes one metafield with your rules and nothing else to your store; it does not read names, e-mails or addresses of your customers.

Questions

Is the date a promise from the carrier?

No, and it is labelled Estimated everywhere. It is computed from your own dispatch times, transit days, weekends, holidays and days off. Carriers, customs and weather are not part of it. You can reword the label but never remove the word.

How is the date different from the one Shopify shows at checkout?

Shopify’s native delivery dates exist only at checkout, in eight countries, with a 12:00 cut-off. This app shows a date on the product page and in a bar on every page, for every country you ship to, from your own cut-off. At installation it compares your processing time with the one Shopify checkout uses and offers to use the same.

Which countries and holidays are covered?

Every country in your shipping zones. Public holidays of your warehouse country and each shipping country come from a table built into the app (US, CA, GB, DE, FR, IT, ES, NL, PL, AU); for other countries, and for any closure, add your own days off, a day or a range. Switch off any holiday that you work through.

Does the bar slow my store down?

No request goes to our server from the page. The rules sit in a store metafield; a script of about 3 KB compressed reads them and draws the bar, then ticks once a second while the tab is visible.

What if my theme is not Dawn?

The bar is an app embed and the Get it by line an app block, both standard for Online Store 2.0 themes. If a theme has no product-page app blocks, the bar still works.

What does the promise log read from my orders?

On the order: its number, the shipping country and the dates of the order and of its fulfilment. Never names, e-mails, phone numbers or street addresses. Orders without a shipping address (pickup, digital) are not logged. The log is kept for 7 days on Free and 90 days on Pro.

What is not in this version?

Several warehouses, carrier-calculated rates and transit times taken from your fulfilment history are planned for later. Very large shipping setups (hundreds of zones, dozens of markets) are read in pages; the first 300 zones or 50 markets are used.

What does each plan include?

Free: the bar and the Get it by line with countdown, delivery date and free-shipping-left, every country, holidays and your own days off. Pro $9 a month or $89 a year, 14 days free: the promise log, missed-promise alerts to Telegram, Slack, Discord or e-mail, the promises line in the daily digest, and CSV and a Google Sheets link export. Billed by Shopify.
