Shopify app · the catalogue, remembered
The import rewrote 143 products. Put the tags back and leave the new descriptions.
Shopify keeps no history of a product’s fields and offers no undo. This app remembers every field of every product — texts, tags, SEO, collections, pictures, metafields, variants — tells your chat about changes that came together as one message, and puts back only the fields you pick, only after a preview, only when you say so.
What it does
Six things, done properly.
Every field of every product, remembered
The moment the app is installed it reads your catalogue once — title, description, handle, vendor, type, tags, SEO, the manual collections, the pictures and their order, the metafields, every variant with its price, SKU and barcode — and from then on writes down every change it sees, whoever made it: a person, an agency, a CSV import, an app. Seven days of that memory on Free, 90 on Pro, a year on Business.
A bulk change arrives as one alert
An import, a bulk edit or an app rewrites 143 products in two minutes. The chat gets one card, not 143 alerts: how many products, which fields, how many of each — descriptions in 96, tags in 143 — and a guess at the source. One button on the card opens the preview of the way back for the whole batch.
Back by the fields you pick, after a preview
Restore a product, a collection, a batch or everything that changed in a window — and only the fields you tick: tags but not descriptions, SEO but not titles. The preview names every value it would write, now and will be. Nothing touches your store until you press the button, and the button says how many values it will write.
Texts side by side
A description is not a number: the journal and the product history show the old and the new text next to each other with the words that changed marked, so you can tell a rewritten paragraph from a fixed typo before you put anything back.
The history of one product
Open any product and see what changed in it, field by field, with the time and the source — the app, a person, an import. Compare any two texts. The log is kept for a year on every plan; the plan decides how far back a restore can reach.
Nothing deleted, nothing invented
The app writes only what you confirmed and only into the fields it showed you. It never creates or deletes a product, a variant, a picture or a metafield; a removed picture is shown with what it was, for you to upload again. Every restore has an Undo. Every value it writes is in the log, marked as the app’s.
Why remembering is worth $9
The mistake takes two minutes. Finding the old text takes a week, if it exists.
Shopify’s activity log shows that a product changed; it does not keep the old description and it has no undo. Backup apps restore everything for $19–99 a month. This app does the thing that actually breaks, by the field, from $9.
How it works
Remembering from the first minute.
Install from the Shopify App Store
No account to create. The app asks to read and write products — nothing else, no orders, no customers. It reads the catalogue once; history starts there. Every plan remembers every product.
Connect a channel and try Undo on one change
Telegram in two clicks, a Slack or Discord webhook, or an e-mail address. Then change a tag or a description in Shopify, open Changes, press Undo on the row: preview, confirm, back. That is the whole app; the rest is scale.
When the import goes wrong
The card lands in the chat within minutes of the last change. Restore this batch, tick the fields, check the preview, confirm — and the report comes back to the same chat with an Undo.
Is it for you?
We would rather you know now than after a month.
Works best for
- Stores where the catalogue is edited in bulk or by more than one hand: a CSV import, a PIM or supplier feed, an agency, a bulk-edit app, a team.
- Shops with a few hundred products or more, where fixing descriptions and tags by hand costs an evening — or where nobody has the old text at all.
- Anyone who has had an app rewrite SEO titles, strip tags or reorder pictures and found out a week later.
Not a good fit
- Anyone who needs a full store backup — themes, orders, customers, files. This app remembers the fields of your products, nothing else.
- Anyone expecting deleted products or pictures to come back: we show what they were; recreating them is yours to do in Shopify.
- A dozen products run by one person who edits them one at a time: there is little to remember.
By design the app writes only what you confirmed, only into the fields it showed you; it never creates or deletes anything, does not touch orders or customers, and does not claim to know who made a change — Shopify does not tell apps that.

Questions
What exactly does the app write to my store?
Only what you confirmed in a preview, and only the fields you ticked: title, description, handle, vendor, type, theme template, tags, SEO title and description, the manual collections a product is in, the order of its pictures, its metafields, and for each variant the price, compare-at price, SKU, barcode and the taxable flag. It never creates or deletes a product, a variant, a picture, a collection or a metafield.
What is not put back in this version?
The alt text of a picture, the values of a product’s options (Size, Color), whether a product is published to a sales channel, a removed metafield, and smart (automated) collections, which Shopify fills by rule. These are shown in the history and listed as “not in this version” in the preview; the app never guesses them.
What if a field changed after I looked at the preview?
Every value is read again right before it is written. A value that moved since the preview is left alone and listed as “changed after the preview”. A preview older than 30 minutes cannot be run: build it again.
How does the app know a change was an import?
It does not know who. Shopify tells apps what changed and when, never who or by what. Changes that arrive close together from one kind of source — twenty or more products within two minutes — are kept as one batch, and the card says “probably an import or an app”. The admin’s own activity log is where the person’s name lives.
Can you bring back a deleted product or picture?
No. We show what it was — the fields, the last values, the picture’s address — so you can recreate it in Shopify. Putting back what was deleted means inventing ids, and the app never invents.
How far back can I go?
To the moment the app was installed at most, and within your plan: 7 days on Free, 90 on Pro, a year on Business. Nothing is deleted before a year on any plan — moving down a plan locks the older history, it does not lose it.
Is this a backup app?
No. Backup apps copy the whole store — themes, orders, customers — and charge accordingly. This app remembers the fields of your products, because that is what an import, a bulk edit or an app breaks on an ordinary Tuesday, and puts them back by the field.
Where are the descriptions kept?
Texts — descriptions, long metafield values — are kept in our storage on Cloudflare, one copy per distinct text, named by its fingerprint. A restore writes them back exactly as they were, to the byte. Uninstalling the app deletes them.
What does each plan include?
Free: every product and every field remembered for 7 days, one restore a day, one product at a time, status and prices put back, one channel. Pro $9: 90 days, restores as needed, a collection, a batch or a time window in one restore, the fields you choose — titles, descriptions, tags, handle, vendor, type, SEO, collections, SKU and barcode put back, 10 channels, CSV. Business $19: a year of history, media order and metafields put back, named snapshots and timers. Paid plans start with 14 free days and are billed by Shopify.
